Description
Not knowing whether to save your marriage or end your marriage is like being in purgatory. It’s an incredibly debilitating place to be. You’re probably experiencing sleepless nights, where your thoughts race with feelings of sadness, anger, fear, and wishes that things were different.
Are you plagued with these sorts of traumatic questions — repeating them to yourself over and over, with no real clear answers:
* Should I divorce?
* Will I be alone forever?
* Will I be okay? Will my children be okay?
* Can it ever get better?
* Is there any hope of change?
* Are the rare good times a sign that I can still save my marriage?
At Getting Unmarried™ we believe marriage and family are super important. They’re worth fighting for. It’s worth putting in the time and energy to explore and learn if there’s anything you can do to save them. We encourage you to go the extra mile, and do your homework. Find out if your marriage is truly over…
Our goal is to help you get clear on whether it’s possible to save your marriage, or it’s time to save yourself.
We at Getting Unmarried™ are not pro-divorce, but we recognize and support that sometimes there is no other smart choice. It’s either get out and save yourself, or go down with a sinking ship.
This workshop is going to get you thinking about your marriage in a totally different way. We’re going to highlight the most prominent signs that indicate that a marriage is truly over. So that you’ll be able to decide for yourself if there’s a future in your relationship, or it’s time to bust out that inflatable life preserver and head for dry land!
There are so many factors involved in deciding to end a long-standing marital relationship. It’s important to consider all of your options, and not overlook any areas of your life that may be affected — including family structure, finances, relationships, lifestyle, career, etc. Divorce is not to be taken lightly.
In this workshop we will explore how to reach a decision about the viability of your marriage. We will identify potential fears, concerns, and issues, then help you face them with clarity and confidence, and come up with a concrete action plan.
This Workshop is for you if you:
- You are questioning whether you should stay in or end your marriage.
- You want to explore the areas of your life that a divorce or separation may impact.
- You would like to discover other ways to address the problems in your relationship.
- You have questions about the divorce process.
Sometimes spouses grow and change, but the structure of the relationship does not — it stays stuck in the past. Is your marriage stuck in the past? Can it change and evolve to match the life stage you’re in now? In this workshop we look at the balance in relationships, and how that affects the overall stability of a marriage.
Is your relationship lacking intimacy, affection, and vulnerability? Perhaps there’s even enough space between you for infidelity to transpire. Has there been an emotional affair? Physical affair? Do you flirt with or daydream about other people?
While some marriages can be resuscitated — and even made stronger — after betrayal, many others require divorce as the necessary and possibly the only choice.
Cheating in and of itself won’t necessarily end your marriage…how you and your spouse handle the fallout from the affair will.
Be aware — an affair may be symptomatic of a potentially larger problem, and the infidelity can be the wake-up call to action and identifying the real issues in your relationship. We dive deeply into shifting intimacies in this class, as well as the potentially underlying issues, and look at how they impact a relationship.
If there’s been any sort of unchecked destructive behavior (physical, sexual, emotional or substance abuse) this is a typically non-negotiable situation. Your safety and the safety of your children is your top priority, and you need to take all necessary protective measures.
If you’ve determined that you’re safe, our next recommendation would be to ask yourself do you have anything left to give to this relationship? This workshop explores that too…
If you’ve got a heavy feeling in your heart, and your instinct is telling you it’s time to recognize and admit that there are some serious issues in your marriage and it may even be time to go, then this class if for you.
In this Workshop you will learn:
- The nine marriage agreements— and where your relationship might be out of alignment.
- What makes for a strong foundation in a marriage, and how do you and your spouse deserve to be treated.
- About love languages, and how you might learn to reconnect with your spouse in a different way.
- Some common divorce fears and myths, and how to move past them.
- How divorce and conflict affect children, and how to protect yours.
- About action steps, and developing your intentions.
Before you make a mistake you might regret, take this workshop, and explore if there’s anything left to do to save your marriage.
Having online access to this expertise, you get to do this in your own way, and in your own time. With Is Your Marriage Over insights and information, you’ll be able to create an action plan for moving forward with your life. Knowledge = power.
After the workshop, if you decide there are too many signs, and that your marriage is over, Getting Unmarried™ is here to help you find practical and healthy ways to deal with that reality. Supporting you to make choices based on your morals and values, rather than your first reactions, and guiding you along the high road towards acceptance and wisdom.
*We recommend seeking professional help before ending your marriage. Consult with a couples therapist, divorce coach, or your clergy person. If you’ve been to therapy, and it hasn’t worked, and/or your spouse is unwilling to change, your marriage may be at the end of its viability.
